Stronger Together: 5th Grade at Camp Erdman

Honolulu, Hawai‘i — Mid-Pacific fifth graders recently embarked on an overnight adventure YMCA Camp Erdman! For many, it was their first time away from home, a chance to build independence, strengthen friendships, and discover the power of teamwork.

Through Challenge by Choice activities, team games, and individual goals, students pushed themselves, supported one another, and grew in confidence. From exploring marine biology and Hawaiian navigation to hiking, climbing the 50-foot Alpine Tower, and caring for their cabins and dining spaces, they embraced both challenge and responsibility.

Even after just one night, the impact was clear: stronger connections, greater kindness, and a sense of accomplishment that will carry into the classroom and beyond.
