Nine Mid-Pacific students recently explored the forefront of technology and entrepreneurship at the East Meets West Conference 2025, highlighting the real-world opportunities available through the school’s new Student AI Certification Course.

“Our AI Certification program is designed to give students exactly this kind of real-world exposure,” shared Danelle Landgraf, Department Head of Technology and Engineering. “The conference showed how their developing skills can directly lead to entrepreneurial success.”

Offered through Mid-Pacific’s Global Exchange Academy (GlobalX), the certification course equips students with essential AI literacy and practical application skills. Unlike traditional technology classes, the program challenges students to identify real problems in their communities or industries and develop AI-powered solutions with the potential to become viable ventures.

Hosted by Blue Startups, one of the top 20 accelerators in the U.S., the East Meets West Conference connects entrepreneurs with mentorship, expert guidance, investor introductions, and pitch coaching—mirroring the entrepreneurial skills students gain through the certification course.

Students from all high school grade levels participate in the program, including:

  • Seniors: Natasha S. and Tyler K.
  • Juniors: Jackson B., Brennan F., and Anika T.
  • Sophomores: Minhee K., Grace K., and Yasuhisa K.
  • Freshman: Georgia S.

This diverse group demonstrates that AI innovation is accessible to motivated students at any stage of their high school journey.

“The AI Certification Course prepares students for the future of work with skills in high demand across industries,” added Brian Grantham, Director of Educational Technology.

Enrollment for Cohort 2 opens soon, with the program scheduled to launch in early June. Be on the lookout for more information and how to sign up.
