IB Design Technology Students Triumph in NASA’s TechRise Student Challenge

Congratulations to Mr. Johnny Zhang’s IB Design Technology students, among the nationwide winners of NASA’s third TechRise Student Challenge! This competition encourages students in grades six through 12 to explore technology, science, and space.

To participate, our students had to develop a science or technology experiment idea for testing on either a High-Altitude Balloon or a Rocket-Powered Lander. Specifically, our students submitted an experiment focused on the High-Altitude Balloon. Earlier this month, our students learned they were one of the 60 teams selected!

Mr. Zhang’s IB students will join other winning teams, which include more than 490 students representing 46 states
