Alumni Pā‘ina 2024: A Celebration of Excellence and Community

Alumni Pā‘ina 2024: A Celebration of Excellence and Community
Mid-Pacific Communications Staff

On Saturday, July 20, we celebrated two remarkable individuals at the 2024 Alumni Pā‘ina: Michael Maeda ’79, our Alumnus of the Year, and Dr. Edna Hussey, the recipient of the Wa‘ahila Award. The Alumnus of the Year Award is the highest honor of the MPIAA, presented to an individual who has provided outstanding service to the school, displayed strong support and loyalty, and dedicated significant effort to the improvement of Mid-Pacific. The Wa‘ahila Award is a distinguished honor given to a graduate or someone closely associated with Mid-Pacific who has excelled in their field, attaining a level of prominence that reflects favorably on Mid-Pacific. This award is named after the Wa‘ahila Ridge, a prominent feature connected to Mid-Pacific.

This year’s Alumni Pā‘ina was a resounding success! It was heartwarming to see alumni from different decades back on campus, taking tours, reconnecting with classmates, and enjoying delicious food, some of which was prepared by alumni-owned restaurants and caterers. Special thanks to the Class of 2000 for chairing the event.

Mahalo nui loa to all our partners, donors, restaurants, caterers, and volunteers for making this event memorable. We look forward to seeing you all again next summer, Owls!
