At the age of seven, Sean '32 dazzled judges with his violin performance of Fritz Kreisler's Tempo di Minuetto at the 2022 "Golden Classical Music Awards" International Music Competition. By placing first in the Young Musician (8 years old and under) category, Sean will perform in The Winners' Concert at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall.
Sean found his passion for the violin when he was 2 years old. His hard work and musicianship led him to participate in his first competition last year. He placed third in his age category at the Osaka International Music Competition and sixth place on the piano.
Mid-Pacific's Preschool and Elementary Principal, Dr. Edna Hussey, was thrilled to hear of Sean's accomplishments. "How does a student manage a full day at school, hours of daily violin practice, and the pressure of international violin competitions? Amazingly well for a young 7-year-old!" exclaimed Hussey. "Sean is a personable, independent student who enjoys reading, math, and music. The students have seen him perform on video and take great pride in having Sean as their classmate."
Sean aspires to play the violin all over the world. Presently, he is mastering Obertass Mazurka by Henryk Wieniawski for his next competition. Congratulations, Sean!
