The 2021 edition of Ka Nalu Ola, the annual Mid-Pacific student literary and art magazine, was just published online. The colorful and evocative 2021 edition chronicles student experiences and emotions during this pandemic year.
Ka Nalu Ola has a long and prestigious lineage at Mid-Pacific. The 2020 edition of Ka Nalu Ola was a REALM award-winner. It was awarded the highest honor of "First Class" in the REALM (Recognizing Excellence in Literary and Art Magazines) awards given by the National Council of Teachers of English.
"For me, Ka Nalu Ola has been an irreplaceable kind of creative and productive outlet, and seeing the work we put into it appreciated by others is amazing," said Brooke Johnson.
"For obvious reasons, the 2021 edition of Ka Nalu Ola was challenging to produce," said teacher and advisor Ken Baldino. "However, the obstacles did not deter the dedicated editorial staff from working tirelessly to assemble a magazine that creatively showcases the writing and art of Mid-Pacific's talented students."
