Mid-Pacific Connections in the Heart of Texas

Shannon recently traveled to Texas to connect with Mid-Pacific alumni in the Austin area.

Her first stop was lunch with Marla Stein ’85 at Ling Wu’s at Lantana Place. Since graduating from Mid-Pacific, Marla’s journey has taken her all over the world, including Belgium, Japan, and California. In 2012, she and her husband bought a winery, which eventually became their permanent home.

Although Marla hasn’t been back to campus since graduation, she still keeps in touch with a few close friends from her Mid-Pacific days.

Shannon also met up with Dr. Andy Schell ’76 and his wife, Theresa. Andy is the CEO, managing partner, and founder of Mortgage Banking Solutions, a company has grown exponentially over the years.

Andy shared how meaningful Mid-Pacific was in shaping his path. He came to Mid-Pacific as a sophomore after leaving high school in Waianae and credits the school with making a lasting difference in his life after high school.

He is also looking forward to reconnecting with fellow alumni at the upcoming alumni reunion in Las Vegas this October.
