The final week of summer school is a testament to the talent, creativity, and expertise of the faculty who developed learning experiences that brought out the best in our students. At the last school assembly, the children stepped forward confidently to share their learning -- Market Day sales, the theater production Madagascar, Jr., keiki hula, robotics stunts, a poetry read-aloud, inventions based on science, sports skills, to name a few of the presentations. Seeing these young children poised and self-aware, I am in awe and wonder of their cognitive and social capabilities. You simply must read the summer faculty blogs to see the progression of their students' learning!
Our awesome Afternoon Camp faculty and staff received warm applause from their students. We also acknowledged the equally awesome faculty and staff of the morning sessions.
Thank you to the faculty and staff (including our middle school and high school teacher aides) who made possible the rich learning environments in which the students thrived. Students, take a bow. Bravo for all you've accomplished in just five weeks! Inspiring!
This is the last summer school blog until the regular school-year blogs resume in August. However, the office is open daily, 7:00am-3:30pm, should you need to call or visit the office. Extended Summer Session continues now through July 27. We will continue to prepare for the opening of school year 2018-2019 and the first day of school, August 16.
Enjoy the remaining weeks of summer with your children!
E Kūlia Kākou! Letʻs strive and aspire together!
