"Positivity, confidence, and persistence are key in life, so never give up on yourself." - Khalid

For school principals, balancing and meeting the needs of students, faculty, and parents can at times, feel all-encompassing. What has been especially energizing in my role, despite its challenges, is observing the robust determination of our students. They possess the unique ability to overcome obstacles they encounter. Daily, I have had the pleasure of being up-close and-personal witnessing many of these moments.

During the Intermediate Cross Country Championships this weekend, the morning began with light winds and an overcast sky. The whistle sounded for the first race. The sky started to open with a heavy downpour. Our students remained undeterred. They ran with determination despite the pouring rain, wind, and challenging hills of Mid-Pacific's campus. Our students crossed the starting line with a fierce commitment to completing what they started.

As I was on the field watching each race, the hills, wind, and rain served as metaphors for the complexities of my role as a principal. At the same time, the pride I felt for the achievements of our students reaffirmed my passion for education.
