Theatre

The Mid-Pacific School of the Arts Theatre Program offers students in grades 6 – 12 the opportunity to learn acting, singing, dancing and film production. Students work with artist/educators to hone their craft, create original work and delve deep into the history and theory of theatre.

Every year, the Theatre Program presents three diverse high school productions and one middle school musical production. Theatrical genres covered in recent years include musicals, Shakespeare, children’s theatre, Greek tragedy, narrative theatre and student created work. Mid-Pacific has represented Hawaii several times at the American High School Theatre Festival at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.

“Mama J, Ms. Train, and Ms. Chun have helped me grow from a little introverted boy and taught me to express myself and help find and unlock my potential and interest through theatre. I have really enjoyed being a MPSA student because it's like having a family that will be there to support and care for you.”

“Mrs. Train and Ms. Johnson have been my guides throughout high school so far, and with their instruction, I can see my own improvement. They helped me take my acting and singing to the next level, focusing on technique. Acting and vocal ensemble are always the highlights of my school days, and I look forward to the MPSA productions that they direct every year. ”
