Exciting Campus Enhancements Begin This Summer

We’re thrilled to share some exciting campus improvement projects coming to Mid-Pacific! Starting at the end of May 2025, we’ll break ground on a brand-new Track and Field Facility – a game-changer for our student-athletes and community. But that’s not all – additional campus improvement projects are on the horizon to enhance our learning and athletic spaces.

May 28, 2025 – April 30, 2026

Parking Impact

Some existing staff/faculty parking by the outdoor basketball courts and the gym will not be available
All existing student parking by the outdoor basketball courts will be reassigned to staff/faculty parking
Overflow parking onto the outdoor basketball courts will not be available
Overflow parking onto the soccer field and the grassy area by Damon and Hartley East will not be available
Some staff/faculty parking will be relocated to the grassy area on the Chang property
Some student parking will be relocated to the University Avenue Baptist Church and the Osaka property parking lots

Closures, Vehicular and Pedestrian Traffic Flow

Most of the contractor’s crew to enter campus between 6 and 7 a.m. and leave between 3:30 and 4 p.m.
Large vehicles and deliveries will be limited to times that are NOT during student pick-up and drop-off
Pedestrian traffic routes and detour signage will be posted on campus at strategic locations to help with wayfinding - barricades will also be installed to delineate construction zones from pedestrian traffic zones.

Noise Impacts

Noise impacts during the day could include generator usage, heavy equipment operation, digging, and reverse alarm indicators on trucks, forklifts, and other machinery.
We plan to insulate some of the windows and openings at Wood and Bingham Halls to help reduce noise impacts.

Scope of Work

New 6-lane track and a new naturally grassed soccer field
Wailele Spring is being revitalized
Improving the drainage and storm runoff conditions

Footprint

Site boundary includes Mills Gym and Livingston Pool on the makai side, our fenced border with UH on the diamond head side, the softball batting cages and hillside on the mauka side, and the golf cart path on the ewa side.

Concourse will be closed from May 28 – September 30, 2025, and the “main entrance” to the gym will be on the opposite side (makai side) of the building from August 1 – September 30, 2025

Scope of Work

Renovating the interior of the gym, the concourse, restrooms, and adjacent exterior areas
Sloped roof over the gym will also be recoated
No work is currently planned for the locker rooms or classrooms

Barricades will be placed around the perimeter of the gymnasium as required

Livingston Pool

Timeline

May 17 – June 8, 2025

None between May 17 and May 27
Same as Track & Field from May 28 to June 8, 2025

PE offices will still be accessible

Repair spalled concrete at the roof over the locker rooms
Apply a new coating to the same roof area

Footprint

Limited to the locker room roof and its exposed underside at the pool deck, adjacent to the fire lane (on the makai side of the building), and above the covered walkway (on the soccer field side of the building)

Atherton Hall

Timeline

June 1 – July 31, 2025

Parking Impact

None

Entire building will be closed
No vehicular or pedestrian traffic flow detours are anticipated

Noise Impacts

Noise impacts during the day will be minimal

Scope of Work

Install new interior finishes in classrooms on the ground, first, and second floors

Footprint

Work is limited to those areas described above; however, the entire building will remain closed for safety during that time frame
