Ace Portrait Studio is the official photographer for the Mid-Pacific Institute yearbook, as well as the yearbook Senior Section portraits. For your personal orders, you will be able to create and customize your portraits with unique "dropped in" backgrounds. You will sit next to us and make your selection on retouch, multiple poses and background choices.
For the yearbook Senior Portraits, a special setting and background has been chosen for the Class of 2011 by the yearbook staff. Each senior needs to come to Ace Portrait Studio for at least this yearbook photo sitting.

Senior Yearbook Portrait:
Your pose for the yearbook will be either sitting in a chair or standing, so remember that your clothing from the waist up will possibly be showing. If in doubt about what to wear, check through other MPI yearbooks or bring an extra outfit just in case.
Each student will have a total of 12 poses, (6) poses to be photographed on a gray background in your yearbook outfit.
For the other (6) poses you may bring your own outfit to be photographed for your personal orders.
Girls: Bring 2 to 3 outfits, (1st) outfit for yearbook following MPI dress code*** (2nd) outfit for your personal pose, your (3rd) outfit would be a back up.
Boys: Should bring 2 to 3 shirts with collars and matching pants, (1st) shirt for your yearbook photo following MPI dress code*** (2nd) for your personal photos (3rd) outfit would be a back up.
Ace has all rights to refuse your outfit or should MPI decide your outfit is not up to dress code standard there will be a (2nd) charge to you for re-shooting, or you would be charge $25.00 for ART WORK!

"Cleanliness, modesty, and good taste are minimum standards by which one's appearance is judged. A student attending Mid-Pacific Institute is to dress in a manner that reflects an attitude and spirit attuned to learning and which enhances academic, personal and social growth. As a part of learning to live within appropriate limits (as one must likewise do in adult life and in virtually all workplaces and professions), students are expected to adhere to the school's dress code."
Charges:
Senior's sitting fee is $23.00, retouching is optional for $6.00 (only for yearbook pose). Any make-ups for students who do not schedule picture taking during summer will be charge $38.00, also retouching for $10.00.
Any facial hair such as goatee, moustaches, beards and long side burns will be charge $25.00 EXTRA retouching fee. Removal of braces $25.00!
SENIOR APPOINTMENTS:
All seniors must call Ace Portrait Studio to schedule their appointment time. MPI appointment scheduling is June 1st to July 23rd, 2010. Our business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. If you are not able to keep your appointment date, you need to give us a call 24 hours before or there is an additional fee $10.00 for no show or rescheduling. Please come at least 5 minutes before schedule time to allow yourself time to freshen up. Dressing rooms are available. If you are a homestay student and will not be in Honolulu during the summer, please make your appointment for August, when you return to Honolulu.
Personal Orders:
When ordering your personal photos you may select your own background. We have over 4400 digital backgrounds of your choice. Multiple or split poses has a fee of $15.00 for each pose and background change. (Please see our enclosed price list and special offers - Last 2 pages back of letter.
Payments:
Yearbook sitting charges and retouching must be paid in full on same day of picture taking. When ordering on your personal orders, we require a 50% down payment of total order, balance to be paid in full at time order is completed.
Samples & Previews Options:
Samples are mini prints printed on an 8x10 sheet with all 12 poses to take home and decide on final selection. A deposit of $6.00 is required on sitting date and is refundable if returned or may be credited towards any orders in 5 working days.
4x5 previews are also available for $45.00. After your sitting you can view your images on our computer to pick your yearbook pose. Yearbook selection must be made that same day. Your 4x5 previews will be ready in 3 to 4 days to be picked up by you. Previews are non refundable and cannot be credited back.
Payment for previews are also due on sitting date.
If you do not select samples or previews, you still need to make your final yearbook pose selection after your sitting.

We accept Cash, Personal Checks, MasterCard & Visa. There is a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
Parking and Location:
Only on street metered parking is available, Monday to Friday morning till 3:30 pm and Saturdays all day. We are located at S. King and Piikoi Street intersection, opposite Jack in the Box restaurant.
