Living Green

Dear Mid-Pacific Institute Faculty and Staff,

Mid-Pacific Institute has, for over 100 years, been known for its proud colors of green and white. It has been with much decorum that these colors have embodied the awareness and dedication to global issues which Mid-Pacific imbues upon its students. With the 101st year for Mid-Pacific approaching, the yearbook staff has made a pledge to support a "Living Green" initiative as its theme for not only the yearbook, but also the entire school...

The challenge before us is not an easy one, and will require an immense amount of commitment and effort. I truly believe that if we give our 110% and nurture the effort, these "seeds" will have the ability to grow to their greatest potential and blossom. We must plant our seeds of change on good soil if we expect them to grow. The results of this initiative will be invaluable. If allowed to properly grow to its greatest potential, MPI will be a more efficient, environmentally friendly school.

The true reward however, will be in the mindset and mentality that Mid-Pacific develops throughout the year. We can take pride in knowing that we strove to make a difference and that we truly gave our 110% to help solve a global crisis.

I hope above all, that you can join me in this view. Individually, we cannot solve our problems by ourselves; but together, we can move mountains. Together, we can accomplish this initiative and help set Mid-Pacific's 101st year on a track towards a better future.

Sincerely,
Davin Aoyagi, Class of 2009

KE ANUENUE '09 NEWS

Dear MPI Ohana,

The yearbook staff is proud to announce "Living Green" as the theme for this year's book. Our goal is to produce a beautiful full-color yearbook that incorporates MPI happenings, GOING GREEN activities, and our school colors of GREEN AND WHITE!

We will use this new yearbook webpage for news, events and yearbook information. There will be links and tips on "going green" at home and work, ad info, senior info, and image share!

Help us put together the best yearbook ever at MPI and start the next 100 years of tradition in Manoa with pride and honor.

Go Owls!
