In the ILH Track and Field Championship finals, Daniel Wagner placed first in both the 100m high hurdles and 300m intermediate hurdles. The impressive showing by the junior qualifies him for the HHSAA state championships next week. Also qualifying for the boys is Ryan Hobson in the 1500m and 800m, where he placed third in both races over the weekend. The boys team placed 5th overall. On the girls side, Haley Faringer qualified for the state championships in the 400m after placing 5th in the ILH championships. Two relay teams are under "consideration" for qualifying in the state championships. The 4x100m relay team (Nicole Huffman, Taylor Babbitt, Ashley Yamachika, Paige Young) and the 4x400m relay team (Micki Yasuda, Haley Faringer, Marie Moriwake, Nicole Huffman). The triple jump distance of Marie Moriwake is also under "consideration." The HHSAA state championships begin Friday, 5/14/10 with the trials, followed by the finals on Saturday, 5/15/10. Good luck Owls!
