MPI junior David Terao won his third consecutive individual state championship in the HHSAA state Judo championship this past weekend. His victory in the 121 lb. weight class, follows his previous titles in the 108 lb., as a freshman, and 114 lb. as a sophomore. In the HHSAA state baseball tournament, MPI beat St. Louis 8-5 to secure third place. Coming off a tough loss in the semifinals, the Owls scored seven runs in the first inning and held on for the victory. They finished the season with a 17-5 record. In state Tennis action, senior Gabrielle Gorence, coming off her upset of the #5 seed in the round of 16, lost her quarterfinal match. The Lady Owl softball team wrapped up their first ILH championship and the #2 seed in this weeks HHSAA state softball tournament.
