August 14, 2008MPI welcomes Jo Ito as new Athletic Director
Please join the MPI Ohana in welcoming Jo Ito as our new Athletic Director.
Jo brings a wealth of experience to the position including five years as AD at the prestigious International School of Düsseldorf, Germany, where he led this IB school's competitive sports program. Jo has also served as a fitness program director and a coach of basketball, softball and track and field.
Most recently he taught P.E. at Iolani Summer School, served as a soccer coach with a local club and officiated ILH basketball games. Jo has an MA in Exercise & Sports Science and is a member of The 50th State Basketball Officials Association.
MPI principal Rich Schaffer feels that "Jo not only brings tremendous experience in leading an athletic program similar to MPI's, he also brings a very high energy, highly professional and very positive voice to our athletic program".
