Freshman David Terao is Judo State Champion!

David Terao is the state judo champion in the 108 lb. weight class! David who earlier in the school year placed 2nd in the state in wrestling in his weight division, displayed his strength, quickness, and balance to defeat his opponents on Saturday, May 10th at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Kayla Gomes did a superb job of defeating her opponents in placing 3rd in the state in her weight division. Other judo participants representing MPI in the state championships were Jordan Kealoha, Laine Kawamura, and Ethan Sumida. The boys team placed 11th in the state and the girls were tied for 17th place. Laine is the lone senior in the group and all return next year for the judo season! The future continues to look bright and promising!
