Boys Varsity Basketball Take First in St. Anthony Maui Tournament

The MPI boys varsity basketball team won the 37th Annual St. Anthony, Maui Basketball Tournament this past week at the War Memorial Gymnasium. The Owls defeated King Kekaulike on the first day and then beat Lahainaluna in the semi-finals. The finals pitted two Oahu teams and MPI defeated Pearl City by 2 points to claim the tournament title!

The team now gets ready to play against Westchester High out of Los Angeles on December 19th at the Iolani Classic. It has been a few years since the Owls last invitation to this prestigious tournament and the team is prepared and looking forward to the opportunity to play against mainland competition.
