In keeping with our philosophy of preparing well-rounded citizens, Mid-Pacific students enjoy many opportunities to participate in athletics, clubs and other extracurricular activities.
The school offers an extensive athletic program, fielding more than 85 teams throughout the year. Basic requirements to participate include an annual physical exam, parental approval and medical insurance. Among the sports offered are baseball, basketball, softball, golf, bowling, tennis, volleyball, soccer, canoe paddling, kayaking and swimming.
Many find opportunities to excel that they may not find at larger schools. Athletes and coaches alike are frequent recipients of statewide recognition, including Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year honors.
Teams compete in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu at the varsity, junior varsity and intermediate levels. In a few sports such as football, track, water polo, gymnastics and wrestling, Mid-Pacific competes as a member of Pac-Five, a unique arrangement among smaller independent schools to field collaborative teams in order to compete with the larger ILH schools.
Student participation is high, with 55 to 60 percent of our students involved in interscholastic sports. Many find opportunities to excel that they may not find at larger schools. Athletes and coaches alike are frequent recipients of statewide recognition, including Athlete of the Year and Coach of the Year honors.
