The 11th and 12th grade students of the 2014-2015 Historical Preservation course at Mid-Pacific Institute used a Faro laser scanner to digitally preserve a 1940 Douglas Dauntless Divebomber. The divebomber at the Pacific Aviation Museum, was identified by the students in the class as in need of historical preservation because it played a crucial role in the Battle of Midway in June of 1942 during World War II.

Students in the course researched the Battle of Midway in conjunction with digitally preserving the divebomber and displayed their research through illustrated infographics such as this one, created by student Coby Yoshimura, '15.
