A note to drivers who exit at Maile Way: Please drive less aggressively! Of concern are those drivers who turn left onto University Avenue at the corner of Maile Way. Many drivers rush to make a left turn without yielding to oncoming traffic that actually has the right of way. Please drive with caution and courtesy.
Rules of the Road for MPI Drivers
- From within the MPI campus, the Maile Way, Armstrong Street and Parker Place gates are one-way, exit only, unless directed by campus security. Under no circumstances should you enter campus through these gates. Once you leave campus, Armstrong Street and Parker Place are public, two-way roads. Vehicles using the Maile Way exit must turn right and proceed to University Ave.
- When driving to and from campus, please remember that you are driving through residential neighborhoods. MPI drivers should be respectful of our Manoa neighbors. Please be as quiet as possible, avoid speeding, do not park illegally and yield right of way when it is appropriate.
