"We are all very proud of the accomplishments of these golfers," said Mid-Pacific Athletic Director Scott Wagner. "Each one of them has dedicated themselves to become the best golfer they can be, and we are thrilled at the successes that they are now achieving. Congratulations to all!"
Just before the 2017-2018 school year began, senior Danni Ujimori '18 was selected to represent Hawaii in the Mary Cave Cup, a highly selective golf tournament at the beautiful Sycuan Hotel and Resort on the Oak Glen Golf Course in San Diego, California. According to Wagner, Danni has been a tremendous golfer for Mid-Pacific the last few years (she finished ninth in the state high school tournament this past spring as a junior), and is now taking her game to the next level. Only four girls from Hawaii were selected to represent the state for the Mary Cave Cup, and Danni represented Mid-Pacific and Hawaii with great honor. She finished in third place as an individual (she was one under par for the tournament), and combined with the other three individuals chosen to represent Hawaii, the team came in second place. Danni said that it has always been a dream of hers to be selected to play in this tournament. "This is an experience that I will never forget," She said. "It was an experience of a lifetime!"
At the Ka'anapali Hawaii State Junior Golf Association match play championship on August 27, 2017, Ujimori Earned the girls 13-18 division win. Match play trophies were also earned by Davis Lee '20 (boys 15-18) and Jake Sequin '21 (boys 13-14).
