Christopher Unruh '19 won the Eagle Scout Scholarship from the Hawaii Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. He was recognized at an awards banquet on Saturday, March 11, where he read the essay he wrote. The college scholarship award was for $500. His application and essay has been forwarded on to the National competition, so he has a chance at the National scholarship of $8,000.
Christopher recently received a phone call from The Aloha Council for The Boy Scouts of America informing him that he also won the Fred Trotter Eagle Scout Scholarship for the State of Hawaii. This $3,000 scholarship shall also be designated for college. Christopher will prepare a speech for the awards banquet Thursday, April 13, at the Waialae Country Club.
"We are very appreciative of the excellent letter of recommendation Mr. Wagner wrote for Christopher for this scholarship," Christopher's parents Bill and Lorrie Unruh said. "We are very proud of Christopher. We are also extremely grateful for the incredible education he is receiving at Mid-Pacific, and also for allowing him to complete his Eagle Scout project at the Mid-Pacific swimming pool last summer. Thank you all for your support."
