20 FOR THE NEXT 20

Mid-Pacific is proud to announce that Chief Innovation Officer Brian Dote was honored among Hawaii's business people to watch in 2017 and beyond: 20 for the next 20.
"I am humbled and honored to have been nominated as a Hawaii Business 20 for the next 20 Class of 2017," Dote said. "What an amazing group of people, changing Hawaii through innovation and leadership."
Every year, Hawaii Business magazine selects 20 local leaders who stand out with their accomplishments, talents and service. In his keynote speech, Gov. David Ige, told the audience that he wants to "change Hawaii's trajectory so the state has a vibrant economy and a top-notch education system, and that innovation and entrepreneurship are embraced in all that residents do."
Under Dote's guidance, Mid-Pacific was an early adopter of virtual-reality technology. Mid-Pacific president Paul Turnbull created the CIO position several years ago because he recognized technology's increasing importance in everyday life and wanted someone who understood the industry to bring those opportunities to students.
"In Brian you have the best of both worlds. (He is) someone who can open those doors, but he also understands how kids learn and develop," Turnbull says.
