Amazing Tech! Giving The World A Helping Hand!
A Mid-Pacific 8th grader is shown assembling a "30 Hands for 3D Hands" prosthetic hand project kit. The student 3-D printed the parts in his classroom, the "Design Thinking" course taught by Leilani Sills. When the student completes the kit, the project will be donated to Enabling the Future.
The 3-D Mechanical Hand-Maker Movement was inspired by two strangers (a prop maker from the USA and a carpenter from South Africa) that came together to create a prosthetic hand device for a small child in South Africa ... and then gave the plans away for free so that those in need of the device could make them for themselves or have someone make it for them.
