It was recently announced that the middle school was in the process of reviewing and adopting a new daily schedule. The decision to make this change is a result of several years of research, numerous discussions with parents and students about the instructional needs of our students as well as ongoing conversations between faculty and administration about making the most of the instructional day. So, after a long and methodical process, the middle school faculty have identified two scheduling options, which we believe will meet the instructional and social-emotional needs of our students.
The middle school will trial run the first option of 60-minute class periods from Tuesday, October 11 to Friday, October 14. The second option of 80-minute class periods will run from Monday, November 7 to Thursday, November 10. Following each trial week, we will gather feedback from teachers and a select group of students about their experiences with the new schedule. This information will influence the final decision to adopt a new daily schedule for the 2017-2018 academic year.
As we begin the process of choosing a new daily schedule, we will remain committed to the goal of keeping you informed. Along the journey, should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Middle School Principal Dee Priester at 973-5023 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
