Hiroshima teacher Mr. Yoshihiro Furuichi started his internship at Mid-Pacific Institute this month and will continue through December 2016. Mr. Furuichi was chosen by the Hiroshima Prefectural Board of Education as part of their teacher training program which sends select English teachers to schools in foreign countries including Canada, China, and Australia for a six-month internship.
Mr. Furuichi will be working closely with the IB Program Director and Vice Principal of Academics, Dr. Gareth Russell and all IB teachers at Mid-Pacific Institute over the course of the next few months with the plan to hopefully start an IB program back in Hiroshima and teach others in Japan how to teach IB courses. When Mr. Furuichi first visited Mid-Pacific Institute in fall 2015, he was very excited about the possibility of studying at the first school in Hawaii to offer a full IB program.
