As you have noticed, some of the construction projects scheduled on our Mid-Pacific campus have begun. This spring and summer there are a number of construction projects scheduled on our Mid-Pacific campus. All of these projects will provide a stronger campus infrastructure to support our programs.
The Fire Safety and Communications upgrade project has seen digging and trenching work, approximately from the Chew Technology Center to the main gate and along Kawaiaha'o road. We will continue to expect minimal disruptions during peak traffic hours for the immediate future.
Over the Mid-Pacific Spring Break, March 21 through April 5, more significant digging and trench work will be done, limiting to closing certain portions of the roadway during this period of time.
Currently, we are on target to complete this project before we return from Spring Break, Monday, April 6. However, we may also need to extend our timeline for this project. More information on traffic flow and work progress will be sent prior to school opening on Monday, April 6. See map for details of effected areas for this project (A)
Also over Spring Break, the Middle School Innovation Center project will begin on March 21. Fencing will be erected around the Gulick Hall area, including some areas of the Quad. Once we resume classes after Spring Break, Monday, April 6, classes currently held in Gulick Hall will be relocated and parking in the spaces adjacent to Gulick will be moved.
This project will transform Gulick Hall into an agile learning space, with higher ceilings, expansive windows, movable partitions and access to useful outdoor spaces increasing opportunities for inquiry and project-based learning, interdisciplinary learning, and team teaching. See map for effected areas for this project (B)
Parking lot paving at the softball field area will begin on March 23 and continue for 3 to 4 weeks. The softball parking lot and access road will be closed during this time. See map for effected areas for this project (C)
Softball parking for games will be directed to park between Damon Hall and Atherton classroom building for the duration of the project. See map for temporary parking for this area (C1)
Other major projects:
Parking lot paving at the gym/swimming pool lots will commence sometime in the summer, after the 2014-2015 school year ends. This will require your kokua as we shift parking in these areas to other areas of campus. Details, dates and times TBA (D)
Kawaiaha'o Roofing. Details dates and times TBA (E)
Photovoltaic installation, phase 2, added to specific buildings around campus, Elementary Campus, Hartley Complex, newly designed Middle School Innovation Center. Details, dates, and times TBA.
