Flu Vaccination Clinic available for students in grades K to 8 ONLY.

Hello Mid-Pacific Community,

I am very happy to report that there will be a Stop Flu at School program this year as the Department of Health was able to secure the funding. The clinic is scheduled for November 14. In the past 7 years we have benefited from this initiative by having the convenience of receiving the shots here on campus free of charge to students K-8. The increase in flu protected people on campus also provided some protection to the unvaccinated population.

I strongly urge you to get you and/or your child vaccinated. If you choose not to get the immunization here at school, your doctor's office, Long's Minute Clinics and HMSA sponsored clinics at Safeway are great places to seek the immunization to keep your winter and spring safe from the influenza illness. Please check with your doctor for availability of spray vs shot if you have a preference and visit this link for some common sense tips on flu prevention and care: http://health.hawaii.gov/docd/flu-hawaii/SFAS-parents/

Thank you.
