The 11th and 12th grade students of the 2015-2016 Museum Studies course at Mid-Pacific Institute used an Artec light scanner to digitally preserve a WWII machine gun salvaged from the attack on Pearl Harbor. The gun is located at the National Park Service's Valor In The Pacific Museum. The National Park Service plans to use the students' scan file in a virtual-museum app currently being developed.
