On Saturday, November 28, 2009 seven MPI students participated in the 8th annual Middle School Mathematics Challenge Competition at Hawaii Baptist Academy and took second place. This competition brought together students from eleven private and public schools from across Oahu.
MPI students who participated are 7th graders, Kyler Asato, Sean Hasegawa, Kaitlyn Ingram and 8th graders, Lindsey Matoi, Yoojin Rhee, Matthew Sasaki and Adam Simon.
Students competed in four events involving Geometry, Probability, Sets and Operations. The Competition also included a Scavenger Hunt which required the students to employ teamwork and strategy. The students placed 2nd out of 16 teams. Congratulations and excellent job for representing Mid-Pacific so well.
