The Art of Ikebana

In celebration of “Hinamatsuri” (Girl’s Day), sixth grade students learned the art of “Ikebana” (Japanese flower arranging). “Nageire” ceramic vases were constructed in visual arts class and then used to create their own flower arrangements. Mid-Pacific Institute alumnus, Linda Hamasaki ’59 and her assistants shared their knowledge of Ikebana. The students were excited and anxious to show their Ikebana with their families in celebration of Girl’s Day.
