Governor’s Inauguration Ceremony

lingle.jpgTwenty-seven Mid-Pacific 8th graders were invited to attend the 2006 governor’s inauguration ceremony on Monday, Dec. 4 at the state capitol. It was an incredible opportunity, as our Self & Society classes just completed a unit about the elections and practiced our citizenship skills in Kidsvote on election day.

Highlights of the day included Grayson Smith representing MPI in the media section along with the TV crews. He took some great shots to capture the atmosphere of the ceremony. Tori Hamura waited patiently to give Gov. Lingle a maile lei following the ceremony. The Governor was quite gracious in accepting the lei and posing for a picture.heli.jpg
