Endowments - Mid-Pacific Institute

Endowments

Have you ever wanted to do something to make a permanent difference in the world? You can do just that by contributing to Mid-Pacific Institute's general endowment, or by establishing a named endowment to benefit the students, faculty or the school itself.

Each year, generous gifts to endowment from alumni and friends continue to secure our capacity, in good times and bad, to develop our students' intellectual, emotional, artistic, spiritual and physical strengths to become compassionate and responsible lifelong learners and global citizens. Annually, the endowment generates essential revenue, beyond what tuition and annual fundraising can provide, to support scholarships, faculty development, academic and athletic programs, technology, and facilities. All gifts, great and small, current and deferred, are welcome.

The Finance Committee of the Mid-Pacific Board of Trustees oversees the endowment's investment and spending policies. Funds are held in perpetuity, and a percentage of the market value, approved annually by the Board of Trustees, supports the purpose for which the funds were created.

Endowment Priorities

A major priority for Mid-Pacific Institute is to build unrestricted endowment to support the operations of the school, so that we can meet specific challenges and take advantage of special opportunities that arise. Accordingly, we are pleased to announce the following new endowed fund opportunities:

  • Named Endowed Legacy Funds generate revenue for Mid-Pacific's unrestricted use and can be established by individuals, families or alumni classes with gifts totaling a minimum of $25,000. You can ensure that your annual support continues after you are gone by establishing a named Legacy Fund. Additional contributions may be made at any time, and MPI also welcomes estate gifts for Legacy Funds.
  • The President's Venture Fund is an endowment that accepts gifts of any size and builds unrestricted funds to allow Mid-Pacific Institute's President to take advantage of opportunities as they arise, keeping the school on the leading edge of technology, pedagogy, facilities, and curriculum.

  • Scholarship Funds to provide both merit- and need-based financial aid to talented, deserving students who demonstrate financial need, and for exceptional students who excel in the arts, academics, or athletics.
