A Whirlwind of Activities to End the Year!

We had a crazy, fun, whirlwind of a last week of school!

Tuesday, we said farewell to our beloved Mrs. Revard. We will all miss her, but wish her many fun adventures in her retirement.

Later that day, we welcomed our families to our wetland inquiry open house. We shared our knowledge and passion for all things wetland with our families.

Thursday was the day all the children had been waiting for - Field Day! The activities did not disappoint, from relay games to slides to shave ice, fun was had by all!

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the Noio Room 4 students and families for a fantastic school year! I hope you enjoyed our spring conferences as much as I did. As we close this school year, I'd like to thank you for sharing your child with me; I truly enjoy spending each day with these amazing, wonderful, fun-loving children!

One last picture of a tradition in our class: We "dab out" on an amazing school year!

It is a time of year that many of the children are looking forward to. As a child, I always anticipated my favorite reading time of the year: SUMMER READING! I couldn't wait to get my hands on the list and dive into new adventures, places, and periods in history. I would while away my summer reading the most amazing books. The summer hours spent reading were some of the most enjoyable of my life.

So it's time to dust off the library card, and between beach adventures, dive into some wonderful books! The Hawaiʻi State Public Libraries offer summer reading programs for children.

I sent home a list of 50 summer reads for children. This list is divided by genres and features many new titles. The list below are books that have been recommended by our Noio Rm. 4 students. If you remember, have your child jot down his favorite summer reading books. At the beginning of next year, ask your child to share with me which books he really enjoyed! If your child discovers a new book, let me know, I would love to add it to our list.

Have a wonderful, relaxing and safe summer...

Happiness is a good book!
