The semester is quickly coming to an end and unfortunately that means that I will no longer be in Ms. Holzman's 3/4 classroom. My last day is on Tuesday, December 6. I am going to miss working with all of your children for they were all so welcoming and kind. I loved being able to see all of their different and special personalities!
Throughout this semester I was able to teach a few lessons including a language arts mini-lesson, a math review, and an integrated performing arts lesson. Although I was very nervous at first, I have definitely learned a lot. I realized just how much planning is involved in creating each lesson as well as ways to improve on classroom management. It was also extremely helpful to learn how Ms. Holzman runs each type of activity throughout the day such as Lit Groups, inquiries, math lessons, and Writer's Workshop. It is always so wonderful to see how caring, helpful, and respectful the students are with each other. This is something that I would really like to focus on with my future students as well.
It was such a great experience to be a part of this classroom and to have Ms. Holzman as my mentor teacher. I am so sad to leave but am excited to continue my journey as a future teacher. Thank you and happy holidays!
