American Justice guest speaker - Weinberg Seminar room: TODAY, Monday, October 23, Deputy Prosecutor, Spencer Jim On will visit with us 2:45 to 3:30pm - Topic "How to examine witnesses during trial- cross and direct exam. All are welcome!

Auditions for Bertolt Brecht's "The Caucasian Chalk Circle," the second MPSA High School Theatre production, will be held on TODAY and Tuesday, October 23 and 24 from 3:30-5:30 pm in Kawaiahao 207. Auditioners should come on either day, dressed to move and plan to stay for the whole audition period. The audition will consist of exercises and games and some cold reading. No preparation is necessary. Rehearsals will begin November 6 and the production will run from February 1- 11, 2018. Mr. Wat is looking to cast a strong ensemble of players for this production. Everybody Dance Now!
Yep, It's New Bell Tone Time! What tone do YOU want to hear at the start of every day? While licensed songs cannot be played in a public capacity, your original musical composition can be! Play and record the musical composition you'd like to hear at the start of every school day. The "start of class" tone should be no more than 10 seconds in duration. Your submissions will be accepted from 10/19 - 10/27. Upload your tone in MP3 format here:

Tutorial and Peer Tutoring Program
Do you need help or have a few questions about a class? Here are multiple ways that you can receive assistance.
1) Ask your teacher about attending tutorial during one of these sessions:

  • Mondays 2:45-3:30pm
  • Tuesdays 7:35-8:10am
  • Thursdays 7:35-8:10am
  • Fridays 2:30-3:30pm

2) Come to the Peer Tutoring Walk-in Sessions in the College Counseling Office (Damon Hall, Ground Floor)

  • Tuesdays, 3:15-345pm
  • Wednesdays, 7:30-8:00am, 2:40-3:10pm
  • Thursdays, 3:15-3:45pm
  • Fridays, 7:30-8:00am

3) If you have gone to tutorial and the peer tutoring walk-in sessions and you still need individual assistance, please see your dean about the possibilities of a 1-on-1 peer tutor.

Middle School

The Middle School Executive Council will be hosting the AUW Talent Show on the Scudder Stage on Wednesday, November 1st, with 6 final performances. Can you sing, dance, or have any other talent to share in a 3-minute time limit? If you would like to be a part of the talent show, sign up TODAY, Monday, October 23 between 10:35-11:20am inside Scudder Dining Hall on the stage. See guidelines in this week's MS Newsletter.

Middle School Art Club meetings
in room P1 on Tuesday, October 24 and Thursday, October 26 during lunch (bring home lunch). We will be working on our pumpkins and rocks.

Summer Program - Sophomores & Juniors
The Yale Young Global Scholars Program offers seven unique interdisciplinary sessions over the course of the summer. Current high school sophomores and juniors are elligible to apply. Deadline to apply is February 6, 2018, 11:50pm EST. For more information and to apply, go to

College Visits

We encourage you to attend the visits. They are an excellent opportunity to learn more about what colleges have to offer. New college visits are added daily. You can find the most updated list of college visits on Naviance (Family Connection) (under "Colleges" tab and click on "view all upcoming college visits"). If you will be missing a class, you must first ask your teacher for permission AND sign up at least two days in advance on Naviance. You will be responsible for any work missed. Please check the Daily Bulletin and Family Connection for updates and new additions. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please stop by the College Counseling Office.
