Admissions Interviews on Wednesday and Thursday
Please note that we will be holding interviews on Wednesday and Thursday, and we ask that the Bakken Auditorium area be kept clear and quiet from 3:30pm to 5:30 pm for our guests. Parents and students should make alternate arrangements if this is your designated pick-up location. Thank you for your cooperation!


High School

SPRING BREAK DRIVER EDUCATION CLASS:
March 13 to 17 from 8:00am to 2:30pm, $260. This class fulfills the 30-hour classroom instruction required by the State of Hawaii for anyone under 18 years of age prior to obtaining their driver's license.

Congratulations to Hana Yoon for being selected by audition to this year's OBDA HS Select Band. She is the principal Flute player and will be performing in a concert with other public and private high school students with world renowned guest conductor Jerry Junkin from the University of Texas at Austin. The concert will be on Sunday, February 19th, at McKinley High School Auditorium.

Middle School

Middle School Anime Club

Bollywood Club Meetings!

  • Boys Bollywood meets this week Wednesday, February 8 during lunch.
  • Girls Bollywood meets on Thursday, February 9 during lunch.

Meet in front of Wood Hall. Bring your food with you. We will eat from 10:30 - 10:50 am and then our club meeting will be from 10:50 - 11:20 am or so. See you then! (No prior experience necessary)


Athletics

Students in Grades 9 through 12 who are trying out for the Sailing Team:
Tryouts are TODAY, Tuesday, February 7th and next Tuesday, February 14th. The bus leaves at 3:30pm and will return at the end of practice, arriving at school around 6:50pm. Or students can be picked up at Waikiki Yacht Club prior to 6:30pm. Students will not be left at the Yacht Club unattended, so anyone not picked up by 6:30pm will return to school on the bus. All sailors MUST bring with them a signed parent release form. The coach will email the form to all who signed up, and there are extra copies in the Athletic Office. Thank you!

Girls in Grades 9 through 12 interested in playing Varsity Tennis:
Tryouts are TODAY, Tuesday, February 7 from 3:45pm to 5:45pm. Come dressed to play and bring your racquet. If you do not have an updated Student Health Record on file, please have your parent attend this practice to sign a temporary health form so you can participate.


College Counseling

United States Coast Guard Academy AIM (Academy Introduction Mission) Program:
This 6-day, summer program immerses participants in Academy tradition and life and is an excellent way to discover if the Academy if a good fit. Summer sessions run from July 9-14, 16-21, and 23-28. Application opens February 6 and closes April 1, 2017. For application and program information, go to: uscga.edu.


College Visits

We encourage you to attend the visits. They are an excellent opportunity to learn more about what colleges have to offer. New college visits are added daily. You can find the most updated list of college visits on Naviance (Family Connection) connection.naviance.com/midpac (under "Colleges" tab and click on "view all upcoming college visits"). If you will be missing a class, you must first ask your teacher for permission AND sign up at least two days in advance on Naviance. You will be responsible for any work missed. Please check the Daily Bulletin and Family Connection for updates and new additions. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please stop by the College Counseling Office.
