High School

Show your Aloha to the senior varsity boys by signing their "dead man" posters on your way to lunch on Friday. Posters will be in front of Bakken and Scudder from 11:20-12:45. Varsity Seniors are Hooper, Jacen, Nalu, Travis H., Travis M. And Zion. Senior Night game is Saturday, February 4 at 5:00pm at Mills Gym vs. St. Louis.

The winter MPSA Theatre production, Mary Zimmerman's ARGONAUTIKA, opens this week. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays, February 3, 4, 10, 11 at 7:30 pm and Sundays, February 5 and 12 at 2:00 pm in the Kawaiahao Recital Hall. The production involves a large cast of 24 actors and chronicles the mythological voyage of Jason and the Argonauts. PLEASE NOTE that because of profanity in the script and adult themes, this production is only open to High School Students and Adults. Phone 973-5066 for information and reservations. If you are interested in applying for next year's National Junior Honor Society, please come to an informational meeting on Friday, February 10th at 2:50pm in Wood Hall. You will receive an applicant packet and information as to how to apply. Please be on time. See you there!

College Counseling

The following scholarships are available for senior applicants:
HMSA Kaimana Awards - Due February 10, 2017. Applicants must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA, participate in at least one high school sport, be involved in community service, leadership. Applications available at:

HAHPERD Scholarship - Deadline is February 15, 2017. For those seniors interested in majoring in a career in teaching health, physical education, dance or recreation leadership. Must have attended high school in Hawaii for at least two years, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and provide evidence of teaching potential in the areas of health, physical education, recreation, and/or dance. HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union - Deadline is February 15, 2017. Applications are available at Applicants must be seniors who are current members of the HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union and have been members for at least 12 consecutive months. Pauahi Foundation Scholarships - Deadline is February 17, 2017. Preference is given to applicants of Hawaiian ancestry. For more information go to:

Lumana'i Awards - Due March 1, 2017. Applicants must be of Samoan ancestry. Applications available in the College Center. Applicants must choose one of 16 categories to apply in, from academic subject areas (Math, English, Science, Social Studies, World Language etc...) to Athletics, Performing Arts, and more.

National Catholic Colleges Admissions Association Scholarship - Deadline is March 1, 2017. Applicants must be seniors of good character, good academic standing, who plan to attend a member Catholic college in Fall of 2017. For more information, go to: or email or call 614.633.5444.

College Visits

We encourage you to attend the visits. They are an excellent opportunity to learn more about what colleges have to offer. New college visits are added daily. You can find the most updated list of college visits on Naviance (Family Connection) (under "Colleges" tab and click on "view all upcoming college visits"). If you will be missing a class, you must first ask your teacher for permission AND sign up at least two days in advance on Naviance. You will be responsible for any work missed. Please check the Daily Bulletin and Family Connection for updates and new additions. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please stop by the College Counseling Office.
