The MPSA High School musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, is opening on Thursday, October 20 and will run through November 6. Show times are as follows:

  • Thursdays at 4:00pm - Free admission and refreshments for Mid-Pacific students and employees
  • Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm
  • Sundays at 2:00pm

Performances on Friday-Sunday cost $3.00 for all Mid-Pacific students. See posters for further information. This show is hilarious so come and laugh with us!

High School

PSAT - Important Information for ALL Sophomores and Juniors
TEST DAY will be on Wednesday, October 19, please report to your designated classroom (your homeroom teacher gave you this information on Oct. 14). Plan on arriving at your assigned classroom by 8:00am (see links below). The testing time is from 8:15am -12pm (approx). If you are late and the test has already started, you will NOT be able to take the test. Please bring:

  • Jacket (rooms are air-conditioned)
  • Snack (during designated breaks)
  • Calculator (only for specified section)
  • Extra batteries for your Calculator (optional)

Free Movie:
Mid-Pacific students in grades 9-12 are invited to a special free screening of the movie "Tokyo Godfathers," as part of the Honolulu Museum of Art Japanese Film Festival. Middle school Kindness and Service Club:

Reminder that we will be meeting on Monday, October 24 in B-5 during lunch to continue working on our World Kindness project. See you on Monday!

If you GOT BOX TOPS... please help out the Elementary School by turning them in by Friday, November 18 to Mrs. Kondo in A305. You'll find them on cereal boxes, snacks, and other household items.


Girls Junior Varsity Basketball
The Girls JV Basketball team is looking for student-athletes (gr 9-11) to tryout for their girls junior varsity basketball team. Minimal experience in playing basketball is necessary. Season is from now until mid-December. Please contact Sean Aoyagi, Athletic Department Office Manager, at, if you are interested in trying out for the team.

Boys ILH Canoe Paddling
If you were not able to attend the preseason information on Friday for Boys Canoe Paddling and are still interested, see or email either coaches Mark Hines or Sara McKay-Hines as soon as possible so we can let the athletic department know. First Day of Practice is October 31, but new paddlers must take the swim test on either 10/21 or 10/24. Email: or

College Visits

We encourage you to attend the visits. They are an excellent opportunity to learn more about what colleges have to offer. New college visits are added daily. You can find the most updated list of college visits on Naviance (Family Connection) (under "Colleges" tab and click on "view all upcoming college visits"). If you will be missing a class, you must first ask your teacher for permission AND sign up at least two days in advance on Naviance. You will be responsible for any work missed. Please check the Daily Bulletin and Family Connection for updates and new additions. All juniors and seniors are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please stop by the College Counseling Office.
