National Honor Society:
We're excited to see you back at school and bring you back together for our first meeting! It will be this coming Monday, September 19 at 3:00pm in the Weinberg Seminar Room. We will vote for officers and start to outline activities for the year. See you there!
Get ready for Friday's Field Day from 7:30am - noon. Class t-shirt will be distributed during homeroom. You don't need to bring backpacks, school supplies, or iPads. And remember to help the animals at Hawaiian Humane Society by bringing your old towels, shoe boxes, and newspapers for our morning competition. See myPueo or your homeroom teacher for more details.
The first Kindness and Service club meeting will be on Monday, September 19 during lunch in Room B-5 (Mrs. Lee's classroom) Looking forward to our first meeting and discussing our club activities for this year!
A special meeting for the Middle School Coding Club will be held on Tuesday, September 20 during lunch. Any students interested in learning how to code and those who already know how to code are welcome. Please bring your lunch to Chew Tech to get more information on the Club and activities for the year.
First Art Club meeting is next Tuesday, September 20 at 10:40am in the Art classroom (P1). Please bring your lunch with you that day. We will be starting the art activity promptly. Girls Basketball Conditioning
Student-Athletes in grades 7-12 who are interested in trying out for the girls basketball team, conditioning will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays: 3:15pm-4:00pm in the Weight Room, 4:00pm-4:30pm Conditioning & Agility Work. Loyola Marymount University will be hosting a Prospective Student Reception on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 7:00-9:00pm at The Pacific Club, 1451 Queen Emma Street, Honolulu, 96813. Join Matthew Fissinger, Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Admission at LMU, and many local LMU alumni to learn about the academic offerings and campus life at LMU. University of Hawaii at Manoa's College Opportunities Summer Program 2016: This College Opportunities Program provides an alternative pathway for high school seniors and others who have earned a high school diploma who may not meet the minimum entrance requirements for the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM), can get a second chance to prove themselves worthy of admittance through the College Opportunities Program (COP). Participants in this free intensive six-week summer program are required to live on-campus and are enrolled in classes on a full-time basis designed to upgrade academic and social skills. Room, board, textbooks, and instructional expenses are covered by COP. Participants who successfully complete the summer program requirements are admitted to UHM and advance to COP's First-Year Academic Program in the fall semester. We encourage you to attend the visits. They are an excellent opportunity to learn more about what colleges have to offer. New college visits are added daily. You can find the most updated list of college visits on Naviance (Family Connection) www.connection.naviance.com/midpac (under "Colleges" tab and click on "view all upcoming college visits"). If you will be missing a class, you must first ask your teacher for permission AND sign up at least two days in advance on Naviance. You will be responsible for any work missed.
