I just wanted to update you after all these years as to the where abouts of Jan '00 and Lori '01. After graduating from USC in '04, Jan worked for KPMG - LA and entered law school in '05. She will be graduating this May from Georgetown Law Center, in Washington, DC and working as a corp. lawyer associate with Millbank, Tweed, Hadley and McCloy in Los Angeles. Lori after graduating from Claremont McKenna in '05 is in her 4th year at the Universtiy of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, IL in the School of Vet Medicine and graduating in May '09. They are doing well, and hopefully this note finds you in good health and spirits. We are always grateful to you and the wonderful people that help the girls back in 1997-2001 in preparing them for the hard work and journey in their careers. God bless! Michael & Diane Nishizawa

This past weekend, Denise Liu '78 and I attended a hula performance (Daughters of Haumea) by a San Francisco based halau. Ms. Koco Conner '79 is a member of the halau, and she reserved tickets for Denise and me. The halau is directed by Kumu Patrick Makuakane, a St. Patrick's classmate of Scott Botelho '78. The performance was an infusion of traditional and modern interpretive hula. I hope that all is well. Love, Jon '79

Kung Hee Fat Choy! It's the year of the rat, and me and my classmates are rats. Just in time for our 30th reunion in June. I don't know who's that old. I'm not! This is cool! I hope you are enjoying this new time of your life. I miss seeing you at Mid-Pac. I wanted to let you know that Nicole '03 was accepted into Dental School and will begin in the fall at the University of Missouri at Kansas City. My youngest daughter, Taryn, is a new freshmen and she absolutely loves MPI ... Terri or " grandma" as wel call her said she saw you at the store and passed on a feather lei to you. My stepson, Craig's son Jordan, has applied to be a freshmen so we may have 5 MPI graduates in our home someday :). We are at a very busy tiem in our life with three teenagers at home but I know in a couple of years they will be off to college and I'll miss the noise, dirty clothes, and driving ... Happy New Year and a very warm and sunny good morning to you. How nice it is to be able to call you Auntie Dottie after all these years!!I have been working and living in NY for many years, and it has been a long, long time since I last visited Honolulu, a lovely city where I lived for 3 years until I graduated from MPI in 1971. I was even married at Central Union Church in 1982 when Rev. Chong made all the arrangements ... all the memories are rushing back ...Thanks for all the updates on the Chongs. I will re-connect with Aunty Pearl, Elly and Joy. I used to stay with the Chongs during the holidays. Rev. Chong used to take me in his blue VW Beetle to McCully Chop Suey, his favorite place for lunch. I hope this finds you well and to wish you a happy, healthy and joyous 2008. Dear Louis, How nice to be able to reconnect after all these years. Thanks to your friend Leslie Morioka. I hope you were able to be in touch with one of the Chongs. As I mentioned earlier, Joy's two daughters Jade and Nicole Stanndard are currently enrolled at MPI. Nicole is President of the National Junior Honor Society and both girls are part of the School of the Arts dance program. We are celebrating our 100 Years in Manoa. The students have researched and written a play for the celebration. The middle school have interviewed alumni from Wally Wong '26 to grads in the 2000s. We have a terrific group of teachers and students who have given 100% to this special time in our school's history. I hope to hear from you again. We would be happy to put you on our mailing list, just forward your mailing address to us. It is sunny, windy, and misty in Honolulu. Central Union Church is allowing parking spaces to people who wish to attend the Punahou Carnival. Rarely has carnival weekend enjoyed sunny days. Doesn't matter, the event is always successful.
