Scholarships

A number of scholarships are also available for exceptional students who excel in the arts, academics, or athletics. These scholarships are both merit- and need-based. Details are found on the first page of each scholarship application. The deadline for all scholarship applications is January 31, 2018, and the required financial aid application is due on February 14, 2018 to SSS and to Mid-Pacific Institute; with supporting documents due by February 21 to SSS and to Mid-Pacific Institute. Masaichi Imoto Memorial Scholarships (Entering 9th grade)

The Imoto Scholarships are renewable, full-tuition waivers for students entering the ninth grade. Applicants must demonstrate exemplary academic abilities, strong moral character, leadership potential, a positive attitude and financial need.

The Carlier C. Wheeler Mathematics Scholarship (Entering 9th grade)

Students entering the ninth grade at Mid-Pacific can apply for this renewable $3000 award. Potential recipients must demonstrate a solid aptitude in mathematics and financial need.

The Geraldine Putman Clark Scholarship for the Visual Arts (Entering 7th-12th grades)

A renewable award for talented students (grades 7-12) who wish to pursue serious study in the visual arts. This award offers substantial tuition remission. A portfolio must be submitted. Potential recipients must demonstrate financial need.

The Byron Hipp Memorial Scholarship [ & Byron's Journal: Required reading for this scholarship] (Entering 9th-12th grades)

A $5,000 award for a high school student whose intention is to pursue a career related to marine biology, ocean science or environmental protection issues. Potential recipients must demonstrate financial need.

Mid-Pacific Institute Alumni Association Alumni Legacy Scholarship (new and returning students, entering 6th -12th grades)

The Mid-Pacific Institute Alumni Association Scholarships are offered to new and returning students entering grades 6-12. These partial scholarships for up to $5,000 each can be renewable each year, and will be awarded to students who are legacy* students and demonstrate good character and significantly contribute to Mid-Pacific Institute. Students must demonstrate financial need.

*Legacy students have a parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, and /or great-great-grandparent, who have graduated from Mid-Pacific Institute.

The Benjamin Y. Sekiya Scholarship (Entering 9th grade)

The Benjamin Y. Sekiya Scholarship is a renewable award that covers up to 50% of tuition for high school students from Central Oahu (specifically Kunia, Wahiawa, WhitmoreVillage, Kipapa). Students must demonstrate high scholastic achievement as well as financial need.

Michael and Joanne Wood Scholarship (new prospective students only, entering 9th grade)

This scholarship is offered to new students entering Mid-Pacific in Grade 9. The Michael and Joanne Wood Scholarship is a full-tuition, renewable scholarship awarded to a student who demonstrates substantial financial need, academic ability, strong moral character, anticipated-active participation in our extracurricular programs, and showcases a positive attitude.
