Educational Technologist/Building Facilitator, to begin immediately.

Join the team that implements Mid-Pacific's innovative and dynamic approach to technology. Spend your day facilitating a makery, engineering and digital media space. Support students and teachers who are designing and fabricating using virtual reality, 3D printing, laser cutting/engraving, robotics, coding, 3D scanning, digital media and shop tools. Time outside of this space would focus on integrating robotics, design thinking and coding into elementary and middle school curricula.

High School Science (Chemistry/Physics) Teacher, full-time, for the 2018-2019 school year. Teach multiple levels of Integrated Science or Mid-Pacific Exploratory STEM, and possibly including IB Physics.

Qualifications and Experience: A broad science interest and teacher background. Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Engineering from an accredited university or college and at least two years teaching experience in Physics and/or Chemistry is required. Experience in teaching, or an interest in teaching Space Science is an advantage.

High School Japanese Teacher, full-time, for the 2018-2019 school year. Teach multiple levels of high school Japanese up to (and potentially including) IB.

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Japanese from an accredited university or college. At least two years teaching experience in high school Japanese is preferred. Previous experience with the International Baccalaureate program is an advantage.

High School English Language Development Teacher, full-time, for the 2018-2019 school year. Teach a full range of ELD skills from basic to advanced.

Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's degree in English as a Second Language or related field from an accredited university or college. At least two years experience in teaching a range of levels (basic, intermediate, advanced) and integrating skills (grammar, reading, writing and oral communication) is preferred. Experience in curriculum design, materials development is also preferred.

High School Social Studies Teacher, full-time, for the 2018-2019 school year. Teach high school Social Studies.

Qualifications and Experience: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, History, or related field from an accredited university or college. At least two years teaching experience in high school Social Studies and with a diverse student population is strongly preferred. Previous experience with project based instruction and/or International Baccalaureate are an advantage.

High School Visual Arts Teacher, full-time, for the 2018-2019 school year. Teach a range of high school visual arts courses, including the Fundamentals of Visual Art, Visual Arts History, and/or 2D/3D Art Techniques level I, II, or III courses. Support students in the Mid-Pacific School of the Arts Certificate program with personalized, professional feedback in constructing an artist's portfolio.

Qualifications and Experience: Minimum requirement of a BFA (MFA preferred) in visual arts or related field from an accredited university or college. Minimum of three years related industry and/or academic experience required; currently working artists preferred, with technical specialization in drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and mixed-media. Prior teaching experience is also required. Previous experience with the International Baccalaureate program is an advantage.

Landscape Maintenance, full-time, to begin immediately. Working under the general supervision of the Landscape Services Supervisor. Responsible for general care and maintenance of school grounds, trees and landscaped areas. Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends, as necessary.

Operates all hand and power tools associated with landscape maintenance; operate all types of equipment associated with landscape maintenance including production mowers, wood chippers, farm tractors, backhoes, and loaders; apply fertilizers, pesticides herbicides and other products associated with landscape maintenance; prune trees, shrubs and hedges; prepare soil for planting of plants, turf and trees; install and repair irrigation systems, control clocks and automatic control valves; identify and report any problems with the grounds that may impact the safety of students, staff or faculty; perform basic vehicle and equipment repairs. Additional duties include: Assist Facilities Department in set-up and clean-up of tables, chairs, tents, etc. for school functions, provide labor services to move furniture, fixtures, and equipment; perform any duties required to support the operation and function of the School.

Qualifications and Experience: Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record; able to carry and transport heavy items (up to 75 pounds); able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions; have a service oriented attitude and is able to work well with faculty, staff and the general public; professional, clean cut appearance that represents the school.

Night Custodian, full-time, to begin immediately. Working under the supervision of the Custodial Services Supervisor and/or Night Shift Supervisor. Perform duties and routine manual labor necessary to keep campus facilities in a clean, orderly and healthy condition. Must be able to work nights, flexible hours and weekends, as necessary.

Sweep, vacuum, mop, strip, wax and polish floors as necessary; clean sinks, toilets, drinking fountains and shower stalls with appropriate cleaning materials and correct cleaning methods; dust furniture, doors and windowsills; clean walls and windows; collect refuse from designated areas and dispose of; remove graffiti from assigned areas as needed; report safety concerns and maintenance needs to supervisor; report equipment malfunctions to supervisor and follow up as necessary; clean off-campus facilities used by Mid-Pacific as needed.

Qualifications and Experience: Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record; able to lift and carry up to 45 pounds; have knowledge of standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in janitorial care; able to read and understand labels and instructions of cleaning materials and supplies; able to perform simple mathematics calculations; excellent verbal and writing skills; have a service oriented attitude and is able to work well with faculty, staff and the general public.

Security Officers, Part-time (less than 20 hours per week) and on-call, flexible shifts including days, nights, overnights and weekends, to begin immediately. The Security Officer maintains a safe environment for students, employees, and visitors. Additionally, he/she assists students, employees and visitors with security concerns or incidents. The Security Officer is the first Mid-Pacific employee that the public comes into contact with for entrance onto campus and/or to seek information.

Qualifications and Experience: High School diploma and prefer experience working with middle and high school students. Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, conduct campus foot patrols and interact cordially with the public. Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, professional approach and appearance, and the ability to apply good judgment in the performance of duties. Must clear the drug screening, physical, and fingerprint/background check requirements, and have a valid driver's license.

Athletic Opportunities

Mid-Pacific Institute is looking for a varsity head coach for its girls' basketball program. The head coach is responsible for overseeing and developing all levels of the program including varsity, junior varsity and intermediate. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience as a head coach and must possess excellent communication skills. Basketball specific coaching certification is preferred.
