Position: Photography and Fundamentals of Art Teacher
Type: Full-time, Regular
Pay Rate: $51,990 - $108,935 Annually based on degree and experience

JOB SUMMARY
Mid-Pacific seeks a progressive art educator with educational and professional experience in digital photography and visual/digital art fundamentals. At Mid-Pacific, art faculty design engaging experiences that promote inquiry-style learning and the “habits of an artist” essential to student success in post-secondary education and/or art-related careers. All art faculty participate in teaching a foundational prerequisite course called Art 1: Ways of Seeing and teaching and mentoring advanced students. Faculty are experienced and professional artists, assisting students in developing college-ready portfolios. Faculty guide students in experiences of exhibiting artwork in a gallery or presenting images online. Maintaining a leader/mentor/collaborator relationship with students, colleagues, parents, and administrators is essential to this role. This position requires active participation in the school's unwavering commitment to the principles of deeper learning. This position reports to the Assistant Principal for Academics and MPSA Program Head.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned including Homeroom duties

• Possess significant experience with digital photography and computer equipment including, but not limited to, Macintosh software, Digital SLR cameras, lenses, tripods, reflectors, diffusers, batteries/chargers, flash systems including studio lighting and off-camera flash systems. 
• Possess experience in analog/film photography practices and equipment 
• Possess post-processing skills in editing in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Bridge, teaching students a high level of editing skills and organization of file and data management.
• Teach multi-level sections of Digital Photography, as well as the Art 1: Ways of Seeing Prerequisite course, with the potential to teach other courses of expertise. 
• Develop lessons that guide students to effectively and creatively learn camera mechanics, including, but not limited to; ASA/ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, focus, etc.
• Integrate relevant topics in photography including, but not limited to, art history, identity & culture, storytelling, contemporary trends in the discipline of documentary photography, ethical issues, and commercial applications (advertising, marketing, graphic design, social media, etc.)
• Communicate course content clearly and often:
  • Create a comprehensive syllabus that includes instructor contact information, a calendar of course topics/units, a description of assignments and grading criteria, course policies, and student expectations
  • Post weekly agendas on the LMS system informing students of upcoming in-class assignments and homework, including precise due dates 
  • Design and implement lessons and formative and summative assessments of students’ learning in alignment with Mid Pacific’s Assessment Guidelines.
• Prepare lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals and learning outcomes set by the department, school, and external examining bodies. 
• Possess excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively, maintaining a solid motivation to collaborate.
• Stay abreast of current research and develop professionally to improve teaching practice continually. 
• Maintain effective classroom management, liaising with deans and parents as necessary. 
• Participate in faculty, content, and grade-level meetings and attend professional learning development workshops and educational conferences.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in film and/or digital media arts from an accredited college or university. Minimum of three years related industry and/or academic experience; currently working artists preferred. Prior teaching experience is required. Additional experience in drawing skills, digital illustration, web, graphics, multimedia, media arts, digital animation a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Our campus consists of multiple buildings on 44 hilly acres that requires frequent walking including uphill and stairs. The employee on a daily basis is required to frequently, unless otherwise noted walk to and from classrooms or buildings within five minutes, lift and carry approximately 10-15 pounds (student journals, papers, books, etc.); arrange student desks, furniture in classroom as needed; stand and sit throughout the day for instruction and supervision of students; walk: class to chapel (once a week), walk around the classroom, from classroom to: copier room (frequently), library (occasionally), fields for fire drills (occasionally), to supervise students (daily); occasional bending; frequent reaching when writing on board, while at desk, for phone, to receive student work (this occurs throughout the day). Some climbing of stairs (daily); walking up a slight hill (daily). 

MENTAL DEMANDS
On a daily basis employee must frequently problem solve, make decisions, supervise students/classroom management, interpret data, grade, organize, write, plan, and clearly communicate.

Position: Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement

Pay Rate: $85,000 - $90,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement is a dynamic leader, responsible for envisioning, executing, and growing a comprehensive, layered, and multi-faceted engagement program that effectively enhances relationships with the School’s alumni and facilitates a culture of connection and investment.  The Director collaborates with all teams within Institutional Advancement (IA) and departments across campus (Divisions, Admissions/Enrollment Management, Facilities, etc.) to promote and support lifelong and meaningful engagement for our alumni through volunteer involvement, strategic events, effective communications, and giving back to Mid-Pacific.

The alumni community currently consists of approximately 12,000 alumni; establishing alumni chapters across the state, continent and internationally is a current aspiration. 

The Director will also supervise MPIAA (Mid-Pacific Institute Alumni Association) and NOP (Nā ‘Ohana Pueo).

The position of Director of Alumni & Parent Engagement is a senior member of Mid-Pacific’s Institutional Advancement office and oversees all aspects of the IA’s alumni engagement and supports NOP (10-15% of position) efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.   Other duties may be assigned.

• Embraces the mission of and strategic priorities of Mid-Pacific Institute
• Upholds and models the IA’s mission and operating principles
• Mission: IA is dedicated to building lifelong engagement and building a culture of philanthropy to ensure financial sustainability for Mid-Pacific
• Envisions and promotes the strategic direction and operation for alumni programs, procedures, and policies that support the advancement of the School’s and IA’s priorities in collaboration with colleagues within the IA, the President’s Office, and throughout the divisions
• Leads and inspires MPIAA to achieve annual goals and foster the associations growth and development
• Works closely with all IA departments to help ensure units are working collaboratively to provide for a seamless experience for constituents and serves as an active member of the IA Leadership Team
• Oversees and guides the MPIAA, its associated subcommittees, councils and affinity groups, and all related activities, ensuring strong and productive relationships between its members and the IA, academic, and administrative leadership.
• Drives strategic priorities forward that align with and support the School’s mission, while strengthening the bond and investment of Mid-Pacific’s alumni community
• Develops strategy and framework to benchmark and effectively measure the success of and identify opportunities for alumni engagement efforts; adapts programs to leverage strengths, close gaps, and to meet annual and long-term goals
• Establishes, builds, and extends relationships with a wide variety of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally with attention to assisting in the cultivation of a strong philanthropic culture among all
• Provides vision for and leads a robust Reunions program, in collaboration and partnership with both the annual giving and leadership giving teams, to ensure a powerful experience that includes connection, education, and increased financial support for Mid-Pacific; routinely assists in identifying and qualifying alumni prospects for gifts in support of their Reunion efforts
• Partners closely with the Marketing & Strategic Communications team to celebrate the unique voices, accomplishments, and aspirations of the Mid-Pacific community, enhancing pride in the institution with focus on alumni and student stories
• Facilitates pathways for student/alumni interaction, highlighting the benefits of the Mid-Pacific’s alumni network through mentoring, networking, and presenter opportunities
• Supports parent engagement and parent volunteer efforts for Mid-Pacific Fund and Na ‘Ohana Pueo to build community and philanthropic support
• Partners with the Admissions/Enrollment Management team to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement in the admissions process
• Effectively communicates with both IA and volunteer leadership (including the Board of Trustees, MPIAA and associated councils, NOP, and Development Committee) regarding strategies and progress
• Develops, oversees, and balances the budget for Alumni Engagement, Reunions, and Special Events
• Cultivates a professional network of colleagues at other institutions to serve as a resource for new ideas and stays abreast of alumni/parent relations best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies
• Contributes to the overall success of the Institutional Advancement office by working on special projects and performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Vice President of Institutional Advancement

• At least seven years of progressive experience in non-profit or educational fundraising, preferably with experience in alumni and/or community relations and engagement
